Video Lab Studios

The Video Lab is located on the seventh floor of the Tower building and offers students enrolled in the Film/Video major and elective classes access to the following facilities:

Tower 745: Black Box Studio

  • Soundproof Studio with lighting grip equipment
  • Control Room with a Multi-Camera Switcher
  • Hard Disk Recording
  • Chroma Reflective Screen
  • High Definition video recording and playback of eight channels of audio

 

Tower 703: Multi Use Studio

  • Wide Screen Video Projector
  • Playback Systems for HDV, DV, Blu Ray, VHS, HI-8 and digital files 
  • Portable White Walls for Video Projection

 

705: Multi Use Lab

  • Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Studio, Abobe CS4 and sound editing programs
  • Surround Sound Playback

 

Tower 706: Sound Studio

  • Digital Performer, Protools, Reaktor, Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer
  • Sound Booth with Control room
  • Surround Sound Mixing

 

Tower 745a: Advance Editing Studio
  • Avid Media Composer Adrenaline with a Sony Luma Monitor
  • Final Cut Studio with Matrox MXO and HDMI Monitors

 

Tower 743: Control Room, Advance Editing and Dubbing

  • Dub Rack with DVD Duplicating 
  • Final Cut Studio with MOTU V4HD I/O box and Blu Ray Burning
  • Final Cut Studio with MXO 2 I/O box and MOTU Audio interface
  • TASCAM D-3200 Digital Audio Mixer 
  • Final Cut Studio Graphics Work station
  • Avid Media Composer Graphics Work station
  • Multi-Camera Switcher

 

Tower 735:  Access Lab

  • Final Cut Studio Systems 
  • Avid Media Composer Systems
  • Final Cut Studio System #1 with Ray light P2 utility and Blu Ray Burning
  • Avid Media Composer system #1 with Voltaic HD convertor and Blu Ray Burning


Tower 739: Video Screening Room

Introduction to Adobe After Effects in 3 parts taught by Melissa McDowell
3 part introduction to Adobe After Effects using lynda.com's source material.
Topics to be covered include : intro to animation & keyframing, intro to effects, working with video, working with multiple layers and rendering/exporting.
