Student Development
Philosophy
The Division of Student Development is committed to the success of all students. We empower them to develop the confidence and skills needed to make educated decisions and become life-long learners. Through collaborative efforts across campus, we encourage the development of a community which values individuality, creativity, diversity, and integrity.
Mission Statement
As educators in support of the College's mission, we provide a safe and inclusive environment that encourages and supports the personal and professional development of students and alumni. We offer services that:
- foster individual growth and community engagement
- prepare students for the creative economy
- provide educational, recreational, social, cultural, and artistic opportunities
These opportunities inspire and motivate students to pursue their vision while challenging them to continually develop their potential as global citizens and artists.
Our Commitment to the Co-Curricular Learning Process
Student Development provides numerous co-curricular programs, giving students the opportunity to engage in fundamental learning experiences outside the formal setting of an academic classroom. These programs include, but are not limited to, new student orientation, student leadership, health and wellness, personal development and artistic, social and civic responsibility. To measure these rich learning opportunities, each department within Student Development has established student learning outcomes and tracks their progress in meeting these outcomes. These competencies and skills help to enhance and guide the students in their academic endeavors. Our co-curricular programs are assessed on an annual basis, the results of which are published in our annual report.
