Getting involved

Students are encouraged to be active at MassArt and make a difference in their school experience. MassArt is a diverse community with different needs. SGA funds over forty student-run, special interest and departmental groups through student fees. All SGA funded programs are open to the entire college community. As a student, you are already a member. Getting involved is as easy as attending meetings or joining a student organization.

Student organizations sponsor social, recreational, educational, and cultural activities that are geared toward student interests. SGA also supports student galleries for undergraduate exhibitions. Each group representative and alternate attends SGA Full Council meetings in addition to meeting separately with group members. All groups welcome new members and adhere to the college's anti-discrimination and anti-hazing policies.

Attending SGA and Student Development events are one of the many ways to network at MassArt. Participating in SGA offers a chance to meet students, administrators, and faculty. SGA is a powerful organization capable of creating change and supporting ideas. For those interested in joining an existing group, or wishing to form a new group, contact any SGA E-Board member or the SGA Advisor.

Governance committees
Another way to be actively involved at MassArt is to join one of the many governance committees. All governance committees have faculty, administration, and student representation that are committed to steering the future of the institution. Contact Colleen Smith for more information about getting involved with a governance committee.
