International Education

A first-hand encounter with another culture builds global competency, an essential trait for informed artists, designers, and educators.

MassArt supports several options for students to add a global dimension to their education, including study abroad programs, travel courses, and interaction with a diverse international student community.

The Office of International Education manages the college's faculty-led travel courses, which are offered each spring and fall, and are open to students from all majors and  levels. Recent courses have traveled to Brazil, China, Ecuador, Germany, Italy, Mexico, and Turkey. Upcoming destinations will also include Egypt, Peru, Poland, the Ukraine, and South Africa.

Undergraduate students wishing to study abroad during one semester of their junior year may apply through Academic Advising to MassArt's international reciprocal exchange programs (PDF) in Australia, China, Holland, Japan, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Students may also research and propose other programs and destinations.

The Office of International Education also provides resources and support to the college's international student population by offering advising sessions, workshops, and cultural activities.

In addition, the office works closely with Colleges of the Fenway Global Education Opportunities Center.
