Registration Procedures

I. Download and read your registration packet and program requirements below. This includes registration instructions and deadlines, graduate schedule and other information for your program.

II. Check your academic progress to ensure that you are enrolling in enough credits to graduate when you intend. The Graduate Programs Office prints a copy of your Evaluation (also called a degree audit or tally sheet) for you and your advisor.

III. Students at the Boston Campus check the MassArt Day School Schedule for electives and TPP requirements.

  • Go to DaVinci.massart.edu to view the MassArt Day School Schedule, select the "Student" button, select "Schedule" from the menu and then select the term (for example 10/SU, 10/FA, 11/SP). Log out. A link to the DaVinci site is located on the home page of MassArt's Intranet, inside.MassArt.edu.

IV. Read all of the links below each semester. These pertain to financial aspects of registration with which you must comply and resources for students. Brief descriptions follow:

  1. Download the registration form and other related forms: day school elective request, add/drop, independent study and directed study forms.
  2. Check the tuition and fees applied to your program.
  3. Be aware of payment and refund policies and deadlines.
  4. Read about financial aid for graduate programs and make sure you are prepared for the next semester or two.
  5. If interested, look into cross registration at MIT, Colleges of the Fenway or ProArts institutions.
  6. If necessary, request disabilities accommodation. Do so as far before the semester start as possible.
  7. Note that you must attend the first day of class or you may be dropped.
  8. Prior to the Add/Drop deadline each term, check that you have enrolled in, or have waived, MassArt student health insurance as this affects your bill and medical care. Announcements with the enrollment dates are sent to students' MassArt email addresses. It is very important to enroll in or waive insurance every fall term. Insurance status starts each fall; prior insurance status does not carry forward into the new academic year. Fall insurance is annual (August 1-July 31). Enroll in or waive MassArt's insurance in spring if increasing to 9 or more credits in the spring term.
  9. Use appropriate forms for changing student status when taking a leave of absence, withdrawing from the program, or graduating soon (intent to graduate).
  10. Look into transportation and housing. Public transportation is encouraged, and students may participate in a lottery for very limited MassArt daytime parking.
